Tree Projects
The City is proud of our Urban Forest and working to expand it so that residents can enjoy all of the benefits trees provide. Below are some of the projects we are, or recently have been, working on:
Culliton Park Plantings: In the Fall of 2024, 13 new park trees were planted in collaboration with SoWe. Trees were provided via the Million Trees for PA program and planted with the help of volunteers from the local community.
Urban Forest Reset: This project aims to increase our canopy coverage and pedestrian safety by combining tree plantings and sidewalk improvements. Close to 400 new street tree will be planted throughout the City. Any tree well, sidewalk, or curb associated with a planting that has been damaged by tree roots will see improvements or replacement as part of this program.
