Welcome to this update on the work of the City of Lancaster Home Rule Charter Study Commission.
We are heavily involved in the drafting stage of the charter. Once drafting is completed, the proposed charter will be presented to the public for comment. The commission will take those comments into consideration before finalizing the Home Rule Charter that will be up for public vote in the Nov. 5 General Election.
You can keep up with our progress through the Home Rule Study Commission documents posted in the city’s public document center. Documents include drafts of articles, subcommittee reports, city financial information and much more.
We will post additional documents, including completed and updated articles, as we move through the process. Please use this information to provide us with feedback on the charter through our feedback form or by talking to us in person as we continue our public outreach.
To ensure that the charter best fits the needs and wants of the community, we need to hear from you!
