The Department of Public Works invites residents to participate in an upcoming Combined Sewer Overflow Control Plan meeting on April 3 at 7 p.m. in Polite Council Chambers at City Hall, 120 N. Duke St.
Attendees will learn about the city’s efforts to reduce combined sewer overflows, instances where untreated wastewater enters the Conestoga River during heavy rain. City staff will present progress made through green infrastructure initiatives and facility improvements, as well as discuss next steps to further mitigate these impacts.
Staff will also provide updates on the city’s compliance with the EPA’s consent decree and the development of the Long-Term Control Plan, which aims to minimize the impact of combined sewer overflows on the Conestoga River.
The meeting will be streamed live at www.youtube.com/c/cityoflancasterpagov.
