The City of Lancaster’s Chesapeake Bay Pollutant Reduction Plan (CBPRP) represents the City’s effort to meet one component of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer (MS4) permitting requirements.
In particular, the CBPRP includes permitting requirements to reduce polluted stormwater discharges to local surface waters impaired for nutrient and/or sediment, and meet Chesapeake Bay pollutant reductions for stormwater discharges to surface waters located within the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The City of Lancaster has installed projects throughout the City to meet the goals outlined in the CBPRP, including Long’s Park Wetland.
This Pollutant Reduction Plan Amendment includes the addition of the Little Conestoga Creek Blue/Green Corridor (LCCBGC) Floodplain Restoration Projects as another proposed best management practices (BMP) that the City of Lancaster may utilize to satisfy the City of Lancaster’s MS4 pollutant reduction requirements.
Residents can review the proposed amendment and submit comments on Engage Lancaster at engage.cityoflancasterpa.gov. Public comment will be open from March 24 to April 24, 2025.
